Im skipping Thanksgiving and November for right now, I have to find the pictures on my other camera.. sorry!
For Christmas, we decided to have our very own version of "Four Christmases" for anyone has seen that movie you'll know what I'm talking about.. So, a week before Christmas, we took a road trip to go see Casey's dad's side of the family in North Carolina. This is the very first time that ALL of his family has been together at one time. We went to see Casey's grandma and newborn sister, both of whom I have never met.
His dad lives in Midway Park, NC. It is by the coast so it was a very VERY long drive, about 22-23 hours worth of a drive. We drove all the way through! Well, Casey drove 90% of the time. The roads weren't that bad at all until we got around the Tennessee/North Carolina border. Then all of a sudden it started looking like the apocolypse. Cars, hundreds and hundreds, literally, were just abandoned along the sides of the roads, ditches and in the medians. It was very snowy and slow going from there on out. It was very scenic though and beautiful but we had to be very careful not to end up like just another stranded motorist. I have Casey and my grandpa to thank for us arriving on time and alive! Casey for being an all around amazing driver and my grandpa for being an amazing grandpa and letting us borrow his truck with four wheel drive. We wouldn't have made it without either one. We got to his dad's house on December the 20th. Here are the pictures:

It's pretty crazy how much they look alike..
Well, we had a great time while we were there. It was a long, LONG drive back though. I'm almost shocked how well Rory did the whole time. When we were driving in we had heard about the weather conditions coming into Oklahoma. Little did we know that when they said "blizzard" and "white Christmas" they really meant it! We literally made it in just the nick of time. We saw several accidents and cars having gone off the road because of the slick ice and snow coming down. We made it home safely and in one piece. We were very glad to be home but we got snowed in for Christmas and for the first time in my life we didn't spend Christmas day with all of our family members. We are still making it up to this day!
